Why is my shower head leaking?

I just installed a brand new shower head not long ago(professional plumber put it in while doing other work for me) and it's already leaking. It drips consistently well after the water has been off. Any ideas on what the cause might be? Normally I'd say worn seals/washers/orings but its a brand new shower head!

A shower head does not leak as there is no control in it to adjust the flow of water. A shower head is simply a conduit for carrying and distributing the water that is fed to it by the shower valve. If it is dripping, then the valve on the wall that feeds it is not completely shutting off the water.
