Does anyone know if spinning a cat by the tail will hurt the cat?

I agree, it is animal cruelty. I was trying to prove a point to someone that is stupid.

Imagine being picked up by some manic giant by the base of the spine and spun round against the bone. would that hurt? (I broke my spine some time ago - it hurt so what did that say? - that I wanted to fall downstairs again because I enjoyed it? - I don't think so!)
I do hope you don't know anyone who has done this or if you did you have already reported them - if not do so! NOW!

Had the market gone against you, you would know in advance that your loss would be exactly your stake x quoted points; i.e. 48 x$5... $240. Simple, predictable and manageable.

Now let's instead say we opened a spread bet and the market stands at 5200 and again you choose to risk $5 per point, expecting the market to rise. For every point the market moves up you gain $5 and for every point the market moves down you lose $5. Let's also say you place a stop at 5100, just in case the market should move down, against you.
With the binary bet you need not care how far the market moves one way or another. All you need is for the market to close higher by the end of the day to win. Simplification of the variables involved makes it easier to manage your money.

With the binary bet you know your maximum win being 52 x $5 = $260 and your maximum loss is $48 x $5 = $240.

The spread bet is a different story; your whole level of profit or loss is DEPENDENT on how far the market moves during the day. If the market, for example, dropped in early trading and you hit your stop at 5100, that would be the end of your trade and you would have lost $500 (i.e.: 100 point drop to your stop x $5 per point.)

Even if the market did close higher without hitting your stop first and closed at 5220 your win would still be less than the binary bet, as your win would be 20 x $5 being $100, whereas the binary bet would win $260.

Your only other alternative, to take the stop out on the spread bet could open you up to unlimited losses. Say the market fell 250 points on that day, you would lose $1,250 whereas your maximum loss with the binary bet would only ever be $240.

In fact the only time you would gain more with the spread bet versus the binary bet is if the market did not touch your stop and actually closed higher than 53 points up on the day.
Combination strategies can certainly be lucrative, but as a beginner, it would be financially prudent to limit your variables and focus on building solid foundations to make your experience of trading not only enjoyable but also more profitable in the longer term.
The binary bet suits all markets: forex trading, shares and commodities and can be employed over different time frames to suit your schedule.

It is no coincidence that there is an increasing groundswell of traders who agree that binary bets and fixed odds products are an excellent tool for both new traders and more experienced traders alike.

i updated my ipod version 3 to the ios4 version apple bought out but i can't work out how to use the multi tasking feature. i know the apps have to be ios4 compatible but most of mine are now. so do you no how to do it? thank you for ur help!

Help with my Maxtor 3200 External storage Hard drive?

so I have a Maxtor 3200 External Storage Hard Drive with about 150 gb of memory storage. I'm currently running Windows vista. Whenever i hook up my Maxtor via usb to the Laptop, it reads the HD as a DVD-ROM drive. I checked the drive and it says Maxtor in the device properties but I can't figure it out.

I assume you are seeing the HD listed in Device Manager under the DVDCD-Rom category instead of Disk Drives. Very strange.

I would create a Restore Point then in device manager RT click it and Uninstall. Then unplug it turn it off then plug in the USB and power it up. Probably won't work but it will only a couple minutes to do.

Remember to keep Vista up to date.

You need to get a site name and configure many settings to do that, you need to contact one of those sites that will help you set everything up, It will cost you I would bet on it. By the way how much storage do u have? You also need to take into consideration if your internet company will let you use that much bandwidth. I have heard stories of internet companies trying to raise the cost of my friends internet bill very very high because they used to much bandwidth.

Electronic $7.98 Both more and less than what a partnership of Sumner and Marr would promise, Electronic's debut has weathered time much better than might have been thought upon its release, but ultimately only half works. When it does, though, it's fantastic, sometimes shifting from okay to fantastic within the same song. Opening number "Idiot Country" is a bit like that -- the beginning sounds a little too rushed, Marr's heavy wah-wah riff OK enough but Sumner's semi-rap/semi-sung vocals a bit ham-handed. By the time the full combination of gentle keyboards, crisp rhythms, and the gentle, reflective chorus comes to bear, though, everything feels just great. Perhaps understandably Electronic leans much more toward New Order than the Smiths -- Marr had already proven his desire to work in dance-crossover since his previous band's breakup, while Sumner's immediately recognizable, melancholic vocals call to mind New Order's rich history. With synth bass and Rolands standing in for Peter Hook's own unique way around the low end, though, Electronic stands out more on its own. Marr's guitar work throughout tends towards the subtle via soft, brisk strums or the occasional repeated key riff; as he's credited for keyboards as well, it's likely much of his work ended up creating the pleasant synth melodies. There's nothing bad per se on Electronic, merely mediocre or a touch forced time to time -- "Gangster," for instance, has a great, cinematic tension undercut by Sumner's attempt at social relevance. The three singles from the album remain the highlights: the delicate, acoustic guitar-led slow groove of "Get the Message," "Feel Every Beat" and its appropriately slamming rhythms, and, in America, the group's brilliant debut effort "Getting Away with It." Neil Tennant of the Pet Shop Boys, who memorably guested on that last number, brings bandmate Chris Lowe along to help on his excellent, sly duet with Sumner -- "Patience of a Saint," another standout. ~ Ned Raggett, Rovi Performers: Helen Powell - Oboe; Bernard Sumner - Vocals, Keyboards; Chris Lowe - Keyboards; David Palmer - Drums; Denise Johnson - Vocals; Donald Johnson - Drums, Percussion; Johnny Marr - Guitar, Keyboards; Neil Tennant - Vocals
