Does anyone know if spinning a cat by the tail will hurt the cat?

I agree, it is animal cruelty. I was trying to prove a point to someone that is stupid.

Imagine being picked up by some manic giant by the base of the spine and spun round against the bone. would that hurt? (I broke my spine some time ago - it hurt so what did that say? - that I wanted to fall downstairs again because I enjoyed it? - I don't think so!)

Now let's instead say we opened a spread bet and the market stands at 5200 and again you choose to risk $5 per point, expecting the market to rise. For every point the market moves up you gain $5 and for every point the market moves down you lose $5. Let's also say you place a stop at 5100, just in case the market should move down, against you.
With the binary bet you need not care how far the market moves one way or another. All you need is for the market to close higher by the end of the day to win. Simplification of the variables involved makes it easier to manage your money.

With the binary bet you know your maximum win being 52 x $5 = $260 and your maximum loss is $48 x $5 = $240.

The spread bet is a different story; your whole level of profit or loss is DEPENDENT on how far the market moves during the day. If the market, for example, dropped in early trading and you hit your stop at 5100, that would be the end of your trade and you would have lost $500 (i.e.: 100 point drop to your stop x $5 per point.)

Even if the market did close higher without hitting your stop first and closed at 5220 your win would still be less than the binary bet, as your win would be 20 x $5 being $100, whereas the binary bet would win $260.

Your only other alternative, to take the stop out on the spread bet could open you up to unlimited losses. Say the market fell 250 points on that day, you would lose $1,250 whereas your maximum loss with the binary bet would only ever be $240.

In fact the only time you would gain more with the spread bet versus the binary bet is if the market did not touch your stop and actually closed higher than 53 points up on the day.
Combination strategies can certainly be lucrative, but as a beginner, it would be financially prudent to limit your variables and focus on building solid foundations to make your experience of trading not only enjoyable but also more profitable in the longer term.
The binary bet suits all markets: forex trading, shares and commodities and can be employed over different time frames to suit your schedule.

It is no coincidence that there is an increasing groundswell of traders who agree that binary bets and fixed odds products are an excellent tool for both new traders and more experienced traders alike.

There are lots of resources out there for useful practice routines for darts. There is a free software program called DartPro that can help you develop a practice routine and track your progress. If you have intent to play more than in your house, you will want to work on scoring, learning out combinations, and hitting doubles to finish in 501. In cricket, I play a practice game called 21 darts. The basic idea is to have all the cricket numbers closed within 7 rounds, not tracking darts for points at all.

What are the circumference of a dart boards rings?

I need to know the circumference of all the rings on a dart board but I can't find the mesurements anywhere, can anyone help me? Apparantly theres six but I can't find them! Thanks!

The six rings would be the one surrounding the inner bull (double bull in the States), the one surrounding the outer bull (single bull), the two on either side of the triples area and the two on either side of the doubles area. According to the tournament rules of the American Darts Organization:
The inside width of the doubles and triples = 5/16"
The inside diameter of the inner bull = 1/2"
The inside diameter of the outer bull = 1 1/4"
The diameter from outside edge of the double to the outside edge of the double = 13 1/2"
The radius from outside edge of the double to the inner bull = 6 3/4"
(must be referring to the center of the inner bull since 6 3/4 is half of 13 1/2)
The radius from outside edge of the triple to the inner bull = 4 1/4"
Overall dartboard diameter = 18"
Spider wire gauge (Maximum Standard Wire Gauge) = 16 SWG
According to bulkwire.com, 16 SWG wire has a diameter of 0.064" (insignificant enough to disregard?)
As long as you know that circumference is 2 * pi * r, and pi is roughly 3.1416, you should have everything you need for your calculations.

By 2000, Nokia got rid of the external antenna and introduced Nokia 3120 with a streamlined appearance and integrated internal antenna. No one would have ever dreamed of a 'saying cheese' and clicking photos with their phone. Yet another fantasy became a reality with the introduction of the Sharp J-SH04, a camera phone. Today, all one can think of the mega-pixels offered by cell phone makers that will help them click sharper and clearer images.

Introduction of the 3G high speed data in 2001 became another turning point in the history of cell phones. NTT DoCoMo of Japan, introduced the first pre-commercial 3G network in the form of FOMA. It was launched in the year 2001 on a pre-release WCDMA technology. Today, we have the highly sophisticated 3G mobiles phones in our pockets that double up as a mini version of laptops.

This was a little information about the history of cell phones for kids as well as adults. Building a computer?

I would recommend a different setup based on an Intel CPU. This system uses DDR2 memory and in general uses newer technologies. I have priced it out on Newegg and it the total came to $754 after rebates.

Stainless steel surfaces will, no matter how hard you try, gain water-marks, streak and start having the cloudy 'used' look. So how do you clean these poor suckers to make them look their best?

Clutter Cleared

The very first thing to do is clear your sink of dishes. Can I be so bold as to suggest that rather than push them aside you make sure they make it into the dishwasher or simple get washed there and then? If operate your home without a dishwasher, then it would pay to have somewhere to stash your drying rack when it's not in use. However, be sure to clean your drying rack thoroughly before you pack it away. Whilst you are there, also grab your plugs, sink strainers as well as other cleaning implements and throw them in some sterilising solution. If you decide your sink needs a deep clean, then rub the sink over with bi-carbonate soda and then spray with 100% vinegar. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a tea towel when complete.

Edge Cleaning

Secondly, taking a sharp edge to clean around the rim of the sink can start the process for major damage. When a sink is installed the edge has a lining. More modern high-quality sinks have a rubber lining that it sits upon and others will have a form of sealant glue. Both of these act as a method to prevent the build up of bacteria around and under the sink edge as well as stopping moisture from getting into the bench and cupboard below.

Instead, to clean the edge of your sink you can use bicarbonate of soda as per the deep cleaning and then take a non-scratch scourer or cloth, doused with vinegar, to thoroughly clean around the edge. If you need to work with more fine detail then grab an old toothbrush and undertake the same process again. Rinse thoroughly when complete and dry with a tea towel when complete.

Tap Fittings

Use a non-scratch scourer and old toothbrush to clean main exposed surfaces of the tap knobs and tap. To get into the harder locations around the tap knobs and tap grab and old pair of stockings and wrap around half around the taps and pull from side to side in a 'flossing your teeth' sort of action. Then, approach the taps from a different angle and repeat working your way around it. You can also apply bicarbonate of soda first if you feel it's needed and wet the stocking with vinegar getting a deep clean around those tight spots. Rinse thoroughly when complete and dry with a tea towel when complete.

If you are particularly house-proud and want to make you sink look it's absolute best then you may wish to add a protective coating to your sink. If you choose to take this option it is important to understand that any treated surface will require more upkeep to keep it looking that way. In terms of safe protective coatings you can utilise a natural wax, like beeswax, or a natural oil, like olive or a citrus oil, to add that protective coat. When selecting an oil to protect stainless steel in a food area, be sure to select one that is derived from edible product so you are not putting anyone's health at risk.

Prevention - better than cure

A quick trick to keeping the sink looking clean for longer is to make sure you thoroughly dry it each time you use it. Make sure you bring out a clean tea towel in your kitchen each day to keep the sink looking gorgeous. You can do the same with an old nappy square or hand towel in the laundry or bathroom. Changing your cloth regularly, daily in the kitchen, also means one less moist area for breeding bacteria - that can only be a good thing!
