An example of the need for standards is to make pages meaningful when a screen reader is being used by someone who is visually impaired. You will see as you hover the mouse over a photo or icon on a well produced site that the content of the alt tag is displayed. This can be read by a screen reader so a photo or logo instead of just being an unknown image could be described e.g. "family by the sea".
Other standards such as not using green buttons for go and red for stop which to some colour blind people would look no different.
Random tags in html and excessive embedding of frames and tables can cause alsorts of issues.
Separate to Accessibility there are standards allowing interation with XML such as closing tags which can be left open and still function for simple browsing e.g. img tag.

We're moving in a few weeks and I'm concerned about packing our rectangular glass table top properly.
It will be in a moving truck for approximately 10-12 hours.
Anyone have experience with this?
Carefully! Zig zag masking or duct tape across the glass first. Then cut strong cardboard the size of the glass and tape around and around if there is no wood to damage. Then pack that in another larger cardboard box. Packing tape it well. Travel on edge, not flat.
Full Size Great Do I have to run TBI on my 1987 GMC full size Jimmy?
I have this truck that I love but it runs terribly! It has a 305 in it now and I have read that it is suppose to have a 350. Can I drop a 350 motor in it that DOESN'T have TBI, I think it would help it run but any suggestions would be great! Thanks in advance!
Even the 350 is tame in a truck that size. If your going to swap engines, go for a 454 or 500. You have the space. As far as fuel delivery goes, it really depends on what state your in and what the smog laws are like. I'm assuming since you drive a large SUV, you don't really care about fuel economy. There are plenty of after market carburetors and port fuel injection kits for the 305 or 350.
