One Response to “Sidecars Steel Tip”

  1. Midnight, late August in the Midwest. A couple of games of steel tip at the Irish pub and a couple of pints of Guinness with an old friend. Then, head for home. The first hints of Autumn lend a welcome cool to the night air. A minor victory – the old Alfa starts with a twist of the worn brass key, the dim greenish dash lights function as their misdirected makers intended. A short jaunt down the freeway to the next exit, just enough time to run to the redline in each gear, savoring breeze and the growly exhaust note. The snick, snick, snick of the shifter is added perfection. Rolling into the drive, the radio becomes audible once again. My first love, Chrissy Hynde, serenades me from years ago.
