Blue Spinning Shafts
cherokkee transfer case main shaft ripped in half how?
91 jeep cherokee 4wd 4.0 rear drum brakes. i bought this suv and it made a loud slamming noise in the rear. The day before Iwas going to get it checked out I was going down the road and hit the gas. Suddnely Iheard some noises and the driveshaft and parts to transfer case were on the road. Upon further inpection I found the transfer case main shaft was ripped in half at the extension housing and the driveshaft to rear differential ujoint was ripped apart. When I was inspecting it a rear wheel locked up out of the blue and I had to redo rear brakes. Any ideas what it could have been. I was told ujoint broke off but wouldn't the driveshaft just slide out of the transfer case extension housing? Maybe rear brakes were seizing causing noise? Transfer case freez? Rear differential spins like normal. Any ideas?thank you.
trans may have locked up if roller clutch is bad. seen this before in a 90 model but it only twisted the shaft.

AXIV Technology:

With the premise that golfers would benefit from playing a low torque shaft, the question facing UST engineers is how to design them so that Tour pros and average golfers can actually get them airborne with the most amount of feel.
